Pre-conference AI Workshop

Thursday 15 October, 8 am - 12 pm | Pullman Reef Casino, 35-41 Wharf St, Cairns City 

Join us on the morning before FOCUS26 for a practical pre-conference AI workshop featuring keynote speaker Julian Moore. This session will explore what AI can do today, the ethical and professional considerations for physiotherapy, and where the profession is heading next. Attendees will then take part in one of two hands-on workshop streams focused either on everyday AI for practice or building with AI.

Places are limited in each stream.

Breakout 1*

Prompting fundamentals: learn how to instruct tools like ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and NotebookLM to draft, review, and refine professional text

Everyday productivity wins: develop proficiency in Microsoft 365 AI to accelerate writing, summarising, and slide design

Create content beyond text: produce polished AI outputs and visuals using responsible workflows.
Building with AI: For the innovators
Breakout 2*

From idea to market: learn startup-ready fundamentals; identifying a real market need, clarifying the problem, and defining a simple value proposition for an AI-enabled solution

Prototype fast with generative AI: build a basic app concept and/or a simple website using AI-assisted workflows

Troubleshoot common build challenges: practical problem-solving for typical barriers to move from prototype to proof-of-concept.

* Places are limited in each breakout. Once full, the alternate breakout will be offered. Notes to both breakouts will be available to all attendees.
